As an aspiring fashion designer, I can become very vulnerable to creative or writer's block. A lot of artists tend to get creative blocks or just lack of creativity, which can discourage someone them putting their ideas into action. It doesn't matter if you are a photographer, journalist, designer, video director, etc, everyone can use a little inspiration.

When I find something inspirational, it helps spark a creative ideas. That does not necessarily mean that I have to copy every idea but somehow you can take that idea and make it better. It is not about who did it first but rather who did it better. This ideology is illustrated in the fashion world since everything is so recycled, but that designer learned how to make it better. As i made a visit to the FSketcher website, I came across a few films or music that inspired me. After watching them and doing my own research, I thought that it would be a great idea to share it with my followers.

7 Inspirational Films or Music for Creative Block

1.) More is More by Harmonium Films & Music

This is literally my favorite film, it was so good that I wanted to cry. After watching this film, I re watched it again, maybe five times. It is such an inspirational fashion film, its creative and different.

2.) Kali Uchis' Music Videos

Kali Uchis is a Colombian singer, who gives off a vintage vibe. Her videos are inspiring to me, they give me ideas for future fashion campaigns and look books. She is gorgeous and her looks are unique.

3.) Music Playlist

Whenever I have writers block, I listen to certain songs that helps clear my mind. My go-to song while writing blog post is, The line by DVSN. Music helps me focus alot, so it would be a great idea to create a music playlist or even watch your favorite music videos.

My creative song playlist:

1.) The line by DVSN

2.) Manhattan by Gallant

3.) Jupiter Grayscale by Gallant

4.) Urban Flora album by Alina Baraz

5.) Just Sayin/I tried by The Internet

6.) Struggle by Gherbo

7.) 100 days 100 nights by Gherbo

8.) Fire and Desire by Drake

9.) Pray you catch me by Beyonce

10.) Flight of the Navigator by Childish Gambino

You can make your own personal playlist that consists of your favorite songs, I can guarantee that it will clear your mind. While the music clears your mind, it allows you to overcome that creative block.

5.) Belly directed by Hype Williams

Belly is one of the most underrated movies. Hype Williams creativity throughout this movie was not recognized enough. From the color scheme to intro scene, the production of Belly has genuinely become one of my favorite black films. This is for designers, photographers, producers, any artist. This is such an inspiring film.

6.) F Word by Savanah Leaf

This is one of my favorite films as well, its inspiring to me. I would love to recreate it.

7.) Lemonade by Beyonce

Everyone is inspired by Beyonce Knowles, but her Lemonade production sent me over the edge. The production of Lemonade was pure genius, this can be inspirational to any artist.

7.) FSketcher

Fsketcher is a YouTube channel that consists of Fashion Drawing Tutorials. For those who aren't experienced in sketching, her channel can definitely guide you through the process. Personally, I would love to recreate some of her fashion illustrations but add my own taste to them.

As a creative genius, you need to be creative and interesting. It is okay if you don't have that creativity first, but inspiration ca help you gain that creative trait. Remember to stay focused and dedicated to your craft. As an artist, people will try to discredit you but you have to prove otherwise. As mentioned before, It is not about who did it first but rather who did it better.

Stay Stylish Gals and Girls, xoxo
