Before reading this article, I want you to ask yourself a few questions. Who am I? What is my passion? Who or what do I want to be in life? If you're having a hard time answering these questions, I have a few ways that could help.
After watching Shameless Maya's recent YouTube video, it inspired me to write this article. In her video, she talks about how to find your passion without getting stuck. For me, I took a lot away from her video because I struggle with finding who I am. By the end of this article, you will have different ways to help find who you are, along with your passion.

Limiting Social media

Limiting social media does not mean that you have to cancel it out entirely. Social media can play a major factor in a person's failing to find their passion. On social media, people are always flaunting how wealthy, happy or pretty they are, which can ultimately make someone want to do that same thing in order to be happy as well. For example, there are a lot of makeup artists on social media. Typically, these makeup artists often have a large following and make lots of money from it. When a person isn't sure of their passion they often get sucked in to believing their interested in the same exact things because they want that same happiness.
For me, Social media makes me envy what other people have or where they are in life. I know that my passion is fashion but I haven't been very active in pursuing my passion, besides blogging. If i decide to browse Instagram or Twitter, I eventually find myself envying the next person or questioning my passion. I start to question why am I not as popular, why can't dress as good as her, etc. These questions start to make me feel as if i'm competing with the next person instead of being inspired. The less time I spend on social media, the less I will put myself or the next person down.
It's hard to be on social media if you are not secure with yourself because you will always compare yourself to others and become full of jealousy. So what I want you to do is limit your social media, it may be hard but it will be worth it. Spend time figuring out what makes you unique and finding your passion.
Join Activities

It's hard to find your passion when you don't know exactly how to. The best way to find your passion is to dabble into different areas, specifically join activities. It does not matter how old you are, there are always activities to join or do within your community. If you are in college or high school, there are different sports and activities to join that are opened to everyone. It's okay if you don't like that specific activity because you can always quit and join another. The best part about these activities is that they are mostly free, there are not any excuses to partake in them.
Personally, I have more than one passion and that's perfectly fine. Besides fashion, photography, interior designing, and makeup are very interesting to me. YouTube has helped me gained more passion for each of these fields because I watched videos on them which helped break down certain aspects of the field. I always knew that anything related to art was interesting to me, but i was able to figure which specific arts were my passion. It is better to know more than one of your passions rather than not knowing any at all.
If you are person who suffers from social anxiety, such as myself then you can check out online courses, or even googling certain fields that you believe might interest you. There is so much technology where any and almost everything can be done online. It is not healthy to always be inside and joining more physical activities or groups can be more beneficial for you.
Be Inspired, Get Inspired

If you already know your passion then that is perfect but sometimes it is easy to end up stuck. As mentioned above, I know my fashion and i'm content with it but I could do more that involves my passion. For example, Since fashion is my passion I could make it a goal to sew one article of clothing a month or every other week. The point is to be active because time is not waiting for you. If you want something and you're passionate about it, go and get it.
Shameless Maya mentioned creating a mood board in her video which is also a very inspirational idea. By creating a mood board, it allows you to create a goal and visualize that goal until it is achieved. So take a little time out of your day to be active in your passion.
In other words, I hope these tips were able to help you becoming focused on finding your passion or being active in your passion, if you've already found it. Go watch Shameless Maya's video because she inspired this article. Until next time, XOXO.
